School review information
École Dr. Charles Best is an academic powerhouse that balances rigorous coursework with intense school spirit. While it suffers from the logistical growing pains of its own popularity—namely overcrowding and portables—it remains the premier choice in Coquitlam for families prioritizing university preparation and bilingual education.
Editorial review summary
Parents and students frequently praise the school's spirited 'Blue Devil' culture and high academic standards. The French Immersion program is highly regarded as one of the best in the district. However, the most consistent complaint is significant overcrowding; the school is operating well over capacity, leading to the use of many portable classrooms and a new prefabricated addition. Parking and pick-up/drop-off traffic are described as chaotic. Despite the crowding, the community vibe is strong, and students feel proud to attend a high-ranking school.
