School review information
Enver Creek is a 'maker's school' that shines brightest outside the traditional textbook. While its academic stats are average, it offers exceptional opportunities for students who want to build robots, cook professional meals, or play hockey, making it a vibrant hub for practical skills and spirited extracurriculars.
Editorial review summary
Parent and student reviews paint a picture of a diverse, spirited school with strong community roots but typical large-school challenges. Positive feedback highlights the exceptional elective programs, particularly the culinary arts, robotics, and the unique ice hockey team. The recent $34.3 million expansion is praised for adding much-needed modern facilities. However, complaints frequently mention overcrowding, with the use of portable classrooms being a long-standing issue. Some students have noted that while the social environment is generally good, support for bullying or mental health can vary compared to other schools in the district.
Common positives
- Strong applied skills programs, including a world-championship level Robotics team
- One of the few Surrey schools with an Ice Hockey team
- Comprehensive AP (Advanced Placement) course offerings
- Recently expanded facility with new labs and studios
- Diverse elective options including Culinary Arts and Theatre Production
Common concerns
- Significant overcrowding leading to reliance on portable classrooms
- Academic scores are average compared to top-tier Surrey schools
- Some reports of inconsistent administrative support for student issues
- Large student population can make personalized attention difficult
Who this school may fit
This school is an excellent choice for students who thrive in hands-on learning environments and are interested in technology, trades, or athletics. It is best suited for self-motivated students who can navigate a large, busy campus to take advantage of the specialized electives like Robotics and Culinary Arts. Families seeking a hyper-competitive, purely academic focus might prefer other options, but those valuing a well-rounded, skill-based education will find Enver Creek rewarding.
