School review information
Khalsa School (Newton) is an academic powerhouse that defies the typical trade-off between religious instruction and scholastic achievement. By combining a #1 provincial ranking with a newly authorized IB MYP curriculum and deep Sikh spiritual immersion, it offers a unique, high-discipline environment. It is arguably the best value in the province for families who want elite academics grounded in Sikh faith, provided they can navigate the chaotic parking and strict cultural expectations.
Editorial review summary
Parents widely praise the school for its strong cultural and religious foundation, noting that it effectively instills Sikh values, language, and discipline alongside high academic standards. The low cost for domestic students is frequently highlighted as a major value. However, reviews often mention that the administration can be disorganized, and traffic/parking during drop-off and pick-up times is a significant challenge. Some parents feel the religious curriculum is intense and requires full family commitment.
