Quick take
School review information
Khalsa School (Old Yale Road) is a specialized institution that delivers unrivaled standardized test results wrapped in a deeply traditional Sikh framework. It is arguably the best choice in the province for families who want their children to excel academically while remaining firmly anchored in their faith and heritage, but it offers a very different social experience than the multicultural melting pot of a typical Surrey public school.
Editorial review summary
Parent and alumni reviews paint a picture of a school with a distinct dual identity. Parents often praise the school for its rigorous academic standards and the ability to instill strong cultural and religious roots in their children, valuing the Punjabi language and Sikh scripture classes. However, online forums like Reddit contain mixed feedback from former students; while some appreciate the discipline, others describe the environment as strictly religious and somewhat insular, noting a lack of cultural diversity compared to public schools. Some parents also mention heavy homework loads as a trade-off for high test scores.
