School review information
Mountainview Montessori is an excellent and highly sought-after elementary school that offers families the rare opportunity to access a genuine Montessori education within the public school system. With its improving academic ratings, strong community values, and focus on individualized learning, it is a top choice for Surrey families—provided they can secure a spot.
Editorial review summary
Publicly available parent reviews and discussions for Mountainview Montessori are somewhat limited, but community signals are generally very positive. Parents on local forums frequently inquire about the school, highlighting its high demand as the only publicly funded 'single-track' Montessori program in the Surrey School District. Families appreciate the tuition-free access to the Montessori philosophy, which emphasizes whole-child development, peace education, and global citizenship. Reviewers value the multi-age classrooms that foster peer mentoring and independence. However, some parents note that because it operates within the public school system, class sizes and student-to-teacher ratios may be larger than those found in private Montessori institutions. Admission is also noted to be highly competitive, with priority given to siblings of current students.
