Quick take
School review information
École Snokomish Elementary is an exciting and much-needed addition to the Surrey school district, offering state-of-the-art facilities, French Immersion, and on-site childcare. While families will have to wait for academic metrics to emerge, its modern, inclusive design and community-focused amenities make it a highly attractive option for the Sullivan area.
Editorial review summary
As a newly opened school, public parent reviews are extremely limited. Early signals from local parent groups (such as the Snokomish Elementary Parents Facebook group) show excitement about the beautiful, modern three-storey facility and the convenience of on-site childcare. However, parents have raised significant concerns regarding traffic congestion and safety at the nearby intersection of Hwy 10 and 148 St during school drop-off and pick-up times, noting the lack of left-turn arrows.
Common positives
- Brand new, state-of-the-art three-storey facility opened in January 2026
- Offers French Immersion programming
- Includes a Neighbourhood Learning Centre with a 24-seat on-site childcare facility
- Beautiful, culturally inclusive architecture honoring the Semiahmoo First Nation, featuring a central courtyard and large gym
- Built with greenhouse-gas reduction strategies for high energy efficiency
- Helps relieve overcrowding in the fast-growing Sullivan/Panorama neighbourhood
Common concerns
- No established academic track record or historical data to evaluate performance
- Traffic and safety concerns at nearby intersections (specifically Hwy 10 & 148 St) during school commutes
- Potential growing pains, administrative adjustments, and community-building hurdles typical of a brand-new school
Who this school may fit
Highly recommended for families prioritizing a modern learning environment, French Immersion, and convenient childcare. Parents should be prepared for typical new-school adjustments and plan their daily commute carefully to navigate local traffic bottlenecks.
