Quick take
Stride Avenue Community Elementary is a revitalized neighborhood school that shines in its community-focused offerings and brand-new infrastructure. While its Fraser Institute academic rating of 5.4/10 sits below the provincial average, the school compensates with a highly supportive environment. The September 2026 opening of its state-of-the-art, eco-friendly building brings modern classrooms, a Neighbourhood Learning Centre, and essential child care services. For families who prioritize community integration, modern facilities, and holistic support over top-tier academic rankings, Stride Avenue is a very promising choice.
Publicly available parent reviews and discussions specifically targeting Stride Avenue Community Elementary are limited. However, based on recent news and community feedback, parents are highly enthusiastic about the brand-new, $46.8 million seismically safe school building that opened in September 2026. Families appreciate the addition of the Neighbourhood Learning Centre, which provides much-needed before and after-school child care, an Indigenous Hub, and various community programs. Some broader district discussions note that population growth in nearby areas has caused enrollment shifts, but the new facility at Stride Avenue is widely viewed as a major upgrade for the local community.
Recommended for families who value a strong sense of community, modern and safe school facilities, and on-site child care. It is particularly well-suited for parents looking for early learning programs like StrongStart and a supportive, inclusive environment, provided they are comfortable with average academic rankings.
