School review information
Surrey Christian School's Elementary Campus offers a well-rounded, faith-based education supported by excellent facilities and a strong community focus. With a solid 7.9/10 Fraser Institute rating, it provides reliable academics alongside unique outdoor and athletic programs. However, its strict adherence to traditional Christian values and lifestyle expectations makes it best suited for families who deeply align with its religious ethos, rather than those seeking a secular or highly progressive environment.
Editorial review summary
Parent feedback on Surrey Christian School is mixed and heavily dependent on a family's alignment with the school's religious values. Many parents praise the dedicated teachers, small class sizes, and excellent facilities, including expansive outdoor play areas and sports fields. Supporters appreciate the strong emphasis on spiritual growth, community building, and character development. However, public discussions and news reports highlight controversies regarding the school's strict adherence to traditional Christian doctrines. A 2019 news report noted the school's community standards policy, which enforces conservative lifestyle expectations for staff, leading to concerns from some parents about inclusivity for LGBTQ+ individuals and non-traditional families. Some reviewers also note that the school prioritizes spiritual education over intense academic rigor.
Common positives
- Strong Fraser Institute academic rating (7.9/10) with a consistent upward trend.

Common concerns
- Strict community standards policies may feel exclusionary to non-traditional families or LGBTQ+ individuals.

- Some parents feel that spiritual growth is prioritized over intense academic competition.
- Tuition and additional fees are required as an independent school.
Who this school may fit
