Westside Montessori Academy is a rare find that successfully balances a nurturing, child-centered philosophy with rigorous academic results. It offers a boutique educational experience where emotional intelligence and cultural exposure (especially Italian) are valued as highly as math and reading. It is an ideal choice for families who want the freedom of Montessori without sacrificing measurable academic excellence.
Editorial review summary
Parents frequently describe the school as a 'gem' with a warm, inclusive community. Reviews highlight the passionate teachers who truly understand each child's individuality, fostering a love for learning rather than just rote memorization. The transition to the new, larger campus on Fraser Street has been well-received, with praise for the bright, spacious classrooms. Some parents note the financial commitment is significant, citing the tuition and the refundable Educational Investment Fund (EIF). Waitlists can be long due to the school's small size and popularity.
